Home      About us
The Staten Island Herb Society was founded in 1981.  Its purpose is to promote and educate the public on the historical, nutritional, and artistic values of herbs.  Monthly meetings at the Paul Kroon Center of Messiah Lutheran Church in Annadale include information on an Herb of the Month, an Herbal Program, and time to meet and exchange ideas with other members.
A Calendar of Events provides members with workshops, plant sales, environmental events, and local festivals in which to participate.  Crafts play a role in the Herb Society's agenda as members participate in locally sponsored civic and garden club events.  Member-crafted items are often displayed and sold at these events.
The Herb Society also maintains two gardens at the Conference House Park in Tottenville - the Colonial Herb Garden located to the side of the Conference House and the Native American Garden located behind the Visitors Center.
